Larry Gets Lost is part of “Story Tellers, the Art of the Story Book” a show currently running at the Ohio Center for History, Art & Technology, ”The Works” Gallery.
The building has a recognizable red brick facade based on its previous location in an old factory. They asked John Skewes to design one of the posters for the show so he incorporated the facade as a bookend. Behind it he stacked some books that were important to him as a child (they happened to still be on his bookshelf!). The books are The Story of Ferdinand(illustrated by the incomparable Robert Lawson), The Complete Sherlock Holmes, Complete Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe, and The Wonderful Wizard of Oz illustrated by W. W. Denslow.
Here you can see the original building and the finished poster, a job well done!
