Sometimes, there are no sweeter words to an illustrator than when a client says “Draw what you want”. That’s when professional illustrators can really let their hair down and they don’t come any more professional than Belgium based Nathalie Profliet.

She finds that working for private clients and friends gives her that freedom and is often a welcome break from the constraints (restraints?) of say an ad agency or a publishers brief. She looks on it as a good opportunity to test out new styles and to make sure they ‘work’ before adding them to her folio. Nathalie created the above samples for gifts and invitations using traditional techniques of acrylic and oils, completing the final art using InDesign.
