For most people the final illustration is all they get to see of an image, but for artists like Sophie Mitchell the whole process from loose sketches through to the final colour render is a joy.

Whilst she admits that adding the finishing touches is the most satisfying part of the process, she never tires of seeing an image come to life from the beginnings of a scribble.
